“Mens sana in corpore sano”
“A healthy mind in a healthy body”
— Juvenal
Who we are
“Mens sana in corpore sano” is a Latin phrase, which translates to “a healthy mind in a healthy body”. At In Corpore Sano, we bring this belief into our way of massage – where massage therapy is the connection between the two. It is a powerful yet healing art for your mind and your body.
Our purpose is to help reconnect you with your body – from a beautiful and relaxing Swedish massage which helps find where your discomfort is coming from, to a Remedial massage to release those spots that have been tight for too long.
How do we do it? It sounds “simple” but the difference between a good and a great massage therapist is their touch. What we provide is a sensitive and intuitive touch in order to arrive at the right amount of pressure to use for each individual. We are all unique, with different needs and different stories – our key is to understand as much as we can via our hands in order to personalise the massage to the needs of our clients.
Massage therapy predominantly works on soft tissues but if you are ready to listen and respect your body, the healing process will reach a deeper level.
About the founder
My name is Chiara and I grew up in Italy near Lake Como and Milan. I have always been very active – between the mountains and sporting activities. Basketball was my muse but with my Sport and Fitness Bachelor’s Degree in 2009, I played all kinds of sport from rugby to fencing. Playing at a professional level in basketball for many years made me realise how fascinating the human body is and how important it is to look after it.
I’ve been working in the fitness and rehab industry since 2010. I worked as a Personal Trainer for 3 years while I studied Osteopathy in Italy (2010-2013). Having then moved to Australia, I achieved my Diploma in Remedial Massage Therapy, Certificate IV in Fitness (Personal Trainer) and I am a qualified AMT (Association of Massage Therapists) member since 2018.
I have a strong belief in the Latin phrase “mens sana in corpore sano” (a healthy mind in a healthy body), which is why I’ve called my business: “In corpore sano”. I am currently completing my Osteopathy studies at RMIT University Melbourne so I can continue to live my dream of helping people through rehab or finding relief.
“Nothing great in the world has ever been accomplished without passion.”
